IT seems ZTE is doing it silently, I just spotted today a Pocket Wi-Fi device which is very similar to Huawei E5 launched last year and commonly bundled by Telcos now. While having brunch at McDonalds in Paseo Center together with a client; he showed me a rather familiar Pocket Wi-fi device which is exactly similar to E5 of Huwaei. ZTE MF30 is bundled with Smart Prepaid Broadband available at P3,800.00 for prepaid subscribers. ZTE MF30 Wi-Fi router is good for 3G mobile Internet with which can be used as an access point (AP). It provides Wi-Fi signals so that Wi-Fi enabled devices such as iPad, iPhone, iPod, netbooks, laptops, PSP and your Wi-fi enabled Smartphones.
I don’t know if this is offered in Postpaid too, but the price compared to E5 is really enticing. E5 used to available for about P7,000.00 (Openline), and for Prepaid which can be purchased in Telcos is about P4,500.00. The catch if you buy it from Telco is it is locked; you can not interchange SIM. ZTE MF30 can serve up to 5 wireless devices as well. One advantage over E5 though is it comes with a charger.
